Have you ever thought, if……
All the trees were of the same size,
All the flowers were of the same colour
All the birds had the same voice,
All the food had the same taste,
All the faces were identical,
All the fragrances were alike
Then what the world would be like?
The world would be a monotonous sphere
With nothing to appreciate in it.
Even the one half of our body is not identical to the other half. The right of one is the left of the other and so we acquire a beautiful appearance. Just think for a while how ugly would we look if the two halves of our body were the same.
God has created beauty in this world by creating variety, and we all appreciate those differences one way or the other.
However, when it comes to the difference of opinion we hardly appreciate it. Instead, our attitude is just the opposite. We feel hatred for those who have opinions different from ours. We feel offended when being disagreed. We have an eye of disgust for those whose beliefs are contrary to ours. These feelings of hatred, offensiveness, and disgust are not limited to individuals but are spread across the nations. As a result, the differences that were meant to create beauty destroy the peace of the globe.
The difference is not the thing that should be abominated; it is the attribute that deserves respect and appreciation. The world can become a peaceful place if we learn to honor the difference of opinion, color, caste or creed. Mankind is like a spectrum of the rainbow.
A rainbow is formed when the single color, white, passes through a prism and divides into waves of various lengths. Similarly, various groups of humans come across different experiences and habitats that create differences among them. However, at their core, they are bind to each other with a single virtue called humanity. Humanity is enough to encourage us all to appreciate all the differences we have.
