Hey there Hive community,
It's the first day of the month, and I'm back with another dance video! Earlier today, I was on Zoom for 2 hours. After the call ended, I put my shoes on and went outside to move my body for an hour. Leave it up to me to warm up with high bpm songs without stretching, which was a shock to my body in the beginning ;P
Life is full and rich right now. Learning curves are keeping me humble. I'm enjoying work lately. It's been about 6 months since I've started working for this rare organization, and I'm starting to feel a sense of familiarity and ownership with what I'm doing. I've been writing about the relationship between consciousness, media, and society. And I feel like I'm slowly climbing out of this dark hole I put myself into, where I couldn't seem to stop doubting my capacities and skills. This greatly hindered my creative process and writing flow. For things that I really care about, I'll often have this toxic expectation of perfection before I even start. Yet I'm reminded of the power of just simply starting. Literally writing a sentence down, or even a word. Starting small, and noticing how it takes shape without me trying to force the process. Slowing things way down, and leaning on my intuition and felt senses. Questioning myself when I need to, yet doing so in gentle and compassionate ways.
Here's a touch of wisdom by one of my favorite poets Nayyirah Waheed:
Hope you enjoy today's dance video!
