Hi hivers!

It is another day to wander. Let me take you out to the mall where I work. If you happen to visit then see you at the home section of Greenbelt 5, and say hi.

I arrived that day without rushing. I passed the newly open shop of Off-White at Greenbelt 3. Few steps away from it, hundred of SunflowerS 🌻greeting the passerbys. I wondered and amazed, why not poinsettia when it has to be a decor on Christmas?
At first glanced, I smiled behind my mask. Who doesn't like sunflowers?

As I walked nearer and saw the board. There was a huge black wall with a statement, 'Virgil Forever'. I had a hint that this was like a tribute to the dead. Flowers can really be a sign for happiness, sadness, celebration for success and for a loss. I took photos as usual, I got to my workplace with the thought who was Virgil? He must be someone who is special loves by the people behind the Sunflowers.

To my curiosity, because that's what happen when you are hiving. Well, thats the effect of the platform to me. So I searched for that name Virgil on the net. I typed 'Virgil Forever'. Well, I found the same photos of that black wall and sunflowers in the article of Manila Bulletin. There I found out who Virgil is.

It was a memorial for Virgil Abloh.

Virgil first launched his label called Off-White in 2014 after working for influential rapper Kanye West. Within the last 10 years, Virgil collaborated with individuals like A$AP Rocky and Takashi Murakami, as well as brands like Nike and Ikea. In 2018, he became the creative director for menswear in Louis Vuitton with a visionary take on blurring the lines between luxury and streetwear. He also used the newly found platform to elevate other artists of color like Kid Cudi, Devonte Hynes, and Playboi Carti through diverse initiatives. These are only a few of the vast contributions of the artist which will be forever cherished by the world. - source: Manila Bulletin

At first glance, that Sunflowers look happy but then you see what it means when you come near. Now that I learned the reason why it's there I felt sad a bit. No, it's not that I know that person but the thought that this person is doing great in his lifetime and he was young at 41. But I know he was celebrated and loved by the people he left behind. It is enough for me to be hopeful, that people remember. People do remember when one is gone. Rest in Peace ✌️ Virgil🙏
