—Vamos a instalarlo.

Future Hydropower
The huge wheel, nearly thirty meters high, swayed gently in the sea breeze as it was suspended from the cable that held it in its final position.
-We must take it down before nightfall," said Bernabé, observing the enormous turbine.
-It's amazing that such a thing will be able to power the whole village when it's operational," Nicolas replied. At the same time, with his hands, like a puppeteer holding imaginary strings, he controlled the cables holding the turbine.
-It was one of the cleanest forms of energy used on Earth before the catastrophe, although it was not necessarily friendly to the geography or the ecosystems," explained Bernabé, observing the operation. -When the three turbines are operational, we will have enough energy to operate the machinery and the robots will be able to start building and the farms to produce, while the orbital station is built and connects us to the Iota sphere of Corvus.
-Ready, it's in place," said Nicolas. -I hope this anachronism of yours will help us to start production, soon the first colonists will arrive and the village is halfway between nothing and nowhere.
The third turbine of the generator was in place, and already the robots were beginning to make the connections and attach it to its pedestal. It was the first time in over twenty thousand years that it had become necessary to use tide-based generators to power a colony facility, but the settlers were becoming more and more urgent to settle in their new territories and the construction of the power relay stations, which received power from a nearby Dyson sphere, was behind schedule.
The third turbine was ready and Barnabas ordered to release the brakes that kept the three devices fixed, when doing so, they slowly began to oscillate to one side and the other, carried by the coming and going of the waves, as if they were gigantic and strange fans.
-Well, it's the most archaic experience I've had as an engineer in a long time," said Bernabé, smiling broadly. -But it's incredibly satisfying. In a few minutes the whole grid should be energized, and we'll be able to dispense with portable generators.
-It's been almost ninety years since I did this for the first and only time," said Bernabe in a tired voice, the three days he had gone without sleep because of the situation taking its toll.
-And how did it all go at that moment? -asked the young soldier as he held the metal piece firmly in place so that Bernabé could tighten the bolts that would hold it in place.
-Excellent, if this turns out a quarter as well as it did that time, I'll be very happy, and I think everyone here will be too," answered Bernabé. -Let's go install it.
The two men walked into the water, carrying between them the circular turbine, formed from a piece of metal taken from the hull of the ship. Behind them on the beach, a tangle of cables stretched across the sand and reached a wrecked troop transport ship, less than fifty meters from the beach.
Several emergency tents had been set up around the ship and some young soldiers were returning from among the trees, carrying pieces of wood to stoke the bonfire that was burning in the middle of the entire installation.
-If this works we will have electricity for the communications system and the food generators, we won't be able to fly, but at least we will have food, water and medicine. -said Barnabas.
-That would be a relief," replied the young man, as they both submerged carrying the device.
Three days earlier, the Apollo military component troop carrier, LNH332, had lost its antimatter reactor on a routine trip to the outer arm, carrying engineer Bernabe Wong, who was to energize four new habitable worlds in the Inu sector of the galaxy.
The failure had led the pilot to make an emergency landing on a sanctuary world more than one hundred and fifty light years from the flight path, so they would probably have to wait several months before being rescued.
The problem with losing the antimatter reactor was that the ship, when the emergency batteries ran out, which happened on the second day of their stay, was completely without power, so when the meager emergency supplies ran out, they would be completely without food and clean water. Fortunately for the thirty crew members, Bernabe had experience building generators the old-fashioned way.
