I fumble for the matches
To strike against the wall
To light a single candle
In this dark and lonely hall
It hurts so bad to watch
Because there's nothing here to see
There's just and empty hallway
A candle, wall and me
I'm crying for the darkness
He was all that was left of time
And I killed him a verse or two ago
At the beginning of this rhyme
O Heaven, are you waiting for me too?
On the other side?
How can I reach you?
When this hallway has no doors behind which you could hide?
I could walk blindly forward
Through this unknown, endless aisle
Or wait where it's familiar
And rest a little while
I know soon enough Death will find me
If I do not find him first
He will lure me with his longing
And the enlightenment I thirst
