Learning to drive is expensive. I've spent probably over £1000 on lessons, and 8 months later I thought I was near to my test. Little did I know, my instructor thinks differently. I just had my second mock test, and despite 2/6 of my major's being actually due to other people (which he confirmed) and another 1/6 being down to another learner (which again, he confirmed), he told me I wont pass before I move to university in September.
This is annoying as I've spent so much time and effort in learning to drive. My instructor's car is a diesel which means that I only need to move using the clutch, rather than juggling the clutch and gas in my mum's petrol. I also get annoyed driving my mum's car as it's not the easiest to drive, as it keeps stalling. This means that I don't practise as much, and that means I need to rely on lessons more. Which then makes the whole thing more expensive, at £30 an hour.
Really this is just a personal grievance. I know I need to learn to drive and that it's an important life skill, but it's still expensive and tedious. Especially as my friends keep seeming to pass quickly!
