I liked birds in watercolors and ink, how to know, maybe it will be a whole series! In the meantime, I present bullfinc to the audience.
I use the watercolor "Nevskaya Palitra": ultramarine, scarlet, burnt sienna, ocher yellow, cadmium yellow medium, white zinc. Black ink. Paper Palazzo 280g / m2, 70% cotton.
I start drawing from the silhouette. At once I could not fit a bird into the leaf, but it does not matter) For this there is an eraser and I can repeat it again. And I turn to watercolor.
I spread a few colors on the palette: scarlet, ultramarine, cadmium yellow medium. I begin to fill the silhouette of the bird with scarlet paint. Then I switch to yellow and ultramarine. While the paper is wet I start adding droplets of ink. Basically, the ink I put on the wings, tail and head. At the same time, I leave the bullfinch in red. And I sprinkle the drawing with salt. I'm waiting for the paper to dry up.
I turn to the paws and the branch. For a branch, I take ocher and I interfere with everything that is on the palette for the dark part of the branch. For the feet I use scarlet with ultramarine and add black ink to the claws.
The body of the bullfinc dried, so I can remove the layer of salt and a little clarify some details. I paint the tail and feathers with ink, I make the head dim, trying to leave a glare in front of the bird. And for the belly I add a little more scarlet paint, because I want to diminish the belly, because under the wings it is darker than in the light near the neck. And the final touch - I add white: on the eyes, on the feathers and down under the belly.
The picture was completely finished, I decided to add an inscription. It seemed to be easy and similar. What do you think?
