The one thing the powers-that-be forget is that an old person who has had everything they worked for stripped away deliberately has nothing left to live for, and a huge grudge against those who did it. The perfect suicide bomber.

If you want an example, you only have to look at the gang who pulled off the Hatton Garden heist. No-one would have believed that a bunch of retired bank robbers in their 70's could have managed one of the biggest and most sophisticated robberies in British history. But they'd worked out that if they succeeded, they (and probably their children) would be set up for life, and if they failed, then the standard of living, healthcare and food in prison would still be far, far better than anything the meagre state pension would provide.
