Basel city on the Rhine is located in the northwest of Switzerland not far from the borders to France and Germany.
The Basel Autumn Market has 549-year-old tradition and still enjoys great popularity. The autumn highlight will continue two weeks and will end on the third Sunday evening, 26 Oct - 10 Nov.
The whole of Basel is transformed into a fairground with around 500 stands and railways, breathtaking promenades, traditional exhibition stands and nostalgic attractions.
Even in the past, international market people were essential for the Basel market. They brought textiles and condiments to Basel.
