So I noticed people are up in arms, about Mary Austin cleaning up Garden Lodge. MANY "fans" are up in arms about this, saying she has no right - so on and so forth.
I made a comment on this Freddie Mercury fan page, saying the god honest truth. The house was willed to Mary Austin. unless Freddie stipulated in his will what she could/could not do with the house, she can do whatever she wants.
I have learned today that "die hards" get angry, when you say that you cannot doodle/draw/color/spraypaint on his wall.
Let's re-coup shall we? Spray-painting on a wall, anywhere - is vandalism. Period, end of discussion, end of list. If you want to visit, visit. Be respectful. Bring flowers, put them by the door. Make a note, and place it with the flowers. Don't be a douchebag, scribble something on the wall, take a chunk out...etc. Someone has to pay for that, and it sure in the hell isn't the people who do this.
Example - Jim Morrison's grave in Paris. People or "fans" rather, did the EXACT damn thing. Now his grave is fenced off, because of this.
When I visit Brandon and Bruce Lee's graves in Seattle, I am respectful. I leave flowers, I take pictures - and I don't touch unless it's cleaning up his grave. That's it. There's no reason to do anything else.
But hyper fans who think they are entitled to draw, scrape, spraypaint - is what causes celebs to block off the access to what they hold dear. Fans need to understand, CELEBS are only human.
