With only around 40 days to go until my due date of baby number 4 arriving and yes that’s also only 44 days to go for those of you counting down to Christmas. I have started preparing my HOMEBIRTH BOX

The list of not only for me, but is their as a checklist for hubby and eldest children.

The community widwives come to visit me at home in a couple of weeks, to go through everything and bring a box of essentials that they will need for the delivery.

Below is my list that I will have ready for the home delivery and also an emergency hospital bag should I need it, but fingers crossed I won’t.

HOME BIRTH BOX

✅ Labour Prep:

Phone Community midwives to inform start of labour.
Siblings on standby to go to friends house (bag packed for youngest)
Prep birth area with quilt on floor, waterproof sheet, inconti pads and towels.
Energy food & drinks (dates to soften cervix, coconut water as Isotonic drink)
Nightie or old t-shirt
Socks to keep feet warm
Birthing Ball
Hot Water Bottle
Clary Sage essential oil
Homeopathic Child Birth Remedy Kit
Bin bags for rubbish disposal
Container for placenta
Drinks/food for hubby and midwives
Phone charger and remote control nearby

✅ Immediately After Birth;
Which is packed into two small clear zip lock bags, that can be taken from homebirth box and placed straight into emergency Hospital Bag (if needed)

Umbilical cord tie (after Delayed cord clamping)
Maternity sanitary pad!
Big knickers
Clean nightie/pyjamas
Nappy, vest & babygrow for baby (after lots of skin to skin, baby has breastfed )
