I used to go for long walks when I was newly sober. I think it is almost a right of passage. The first year was hard. The second year wasn't easy, but I wouldn't call it hard. After 5 years it is just how you live. People congratulate me on making it 17 years... but I don't feel I deserve congratulations at this point... I could have used that at 3 months, 6 months and a year. That was the hard part. So, congratulations on making it 6 months. Stick with it... at some point (maybe you already do) you will look at sobriety and its alternative and know there is only one way.
