I'm a third year student and once my biggest dream in life was to become a doctor. Since childhood, I had seen my mother and grandmother battling illnesses and their suffering created a strange restlessness and passion in my heart. I wanted to become a doctor and treat not only them but also countless other people who are in pain. That very dream became the reason for my hard work. I scored good marks in matric and I also gave my all in FSc because for me this wasn't just studying but a purpose a dream that I wanted to fulfill at any cost.
But life doesn’t always go according to a person’s plans. After FSc, when the time came for admission to medical college my marks weren’t high enough to secure a spot in a government college and the fees of private colleges were beyond what my family could afford. That moment was extremely difficult for me. It felt as if all my hard work all my hopes had shattered in an instant. I broke down inside worry and disappointment surrounded me and I began to feel lost in a kind of darkness.
My parents became my support during that time and held me together. They encouraged me explaining that life isn’t just about one path many paths remain open for a person. Their words gave me some courage and I convinced myself that even if I couldn’t become a doctor, I could still work hard and become something in another field. With that thought I chose Computer Sciences but in some corner of my heart that same unfinished dream is still alive today.
Today, when I look at my life often only one feeling rises from my heart.I’m just drifting, I’m just flowing along. I am studying I am moving forward too but that inner purpose I had that passion I had has been left somewhere behind. Sometimes it feels like I am going along with time but I have lost my true direction. Maybe this is just a phase maybe this too shall pass but for now it just feels like I’m quietly drifting through my own life.
