Ahmad was supposed to go with the boat and get himself to Italy. The immigrants wanted to illegally go to Italy from the way of the sea. They targeted one of Italy's islands called Lampedusa.
On their way, a lot of things happened. They got lost in the sea and many didn't survive. The boat was damaged, and they had to swim to get themselves to the shore, and not all of them knew how to swim.
So, they didn't survive. But, Ahmad did and as he got himself to the shore, he felt freedom and stood silently on the shore and thought about all those people who couldn't make it.
