It is a long way down to the bottom of the pit
And many faces fading as you fall
Still the beginning and the end are closer than you think
And still the stillness beyond the wall
It is a long way back to the closing of the loop
And many lines entwine a parallel design
Still one step before another
And still the stillness after all
