Hello History lovers at steemit, I want to show you all some photos of our local Castle in England. The castle is open for public viewing 7 day's a week and is a great part of British history. I live 10 miles away from this stunning place and have visited many times in my life. Beeston Castle is one of the most dramatic ruins in the English landscape. Built by Ranulf, 6th Earl of Chester around the 1220s.

Henry III seized this castle in 1237, it remained in royal ownership until the 16th century. In the Civil War it withstood a long siege in 1644–5, before surrendered by the Royalists and partially demolished.

This is the view from just before you get to the bridge, just off the second walk track.

I plan to update this page with more photos I have on my pc, I have some really nice night photos I think you might like. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed this first blog of mine.

If you do ever visit there are 3 paths you can take to get to the castle and the walk is very steep on 2 of them but well worth the walk. This is a great day out for adults and kids and people from all over the world love to visit this castle.

There is also another castle very near Beeston called Peckforton Castle and this is a stunning castle hotel, I will do a blog about this also soon and hope you all enjoy reading.
