Hi,

I have a 3-year-old son. Most time it is fun with him, but there are times when he drives me crazy, mostly because he does the annoying things I've done at his age.

Today, he wanted to have ice cream, as it was hot outside. I really did not want to buy him any ice cream, so I tried to make a deal with him. In the end, I've lost and had to get an ice.

The deal is not important, as the message of the deal was relevant. I'vm trying to teach him basics of finance and mathematics, as he is only 3. He gets the coins from the supermarket trolleys that we use, but he needs to keep track of them and to know how many they are, as we buy for him stuff that he wants.

I've asked him about the coins that he had, and if he had more saved than a certain sum, I will get the ice, if it is less, due to the fact that he plays and loses them, he will not get it. To my surprise, he had double the amount saved.

I was happy, that he saves, and knows how much he has. It is the first step to financial freedom. I try to teach him financials by playing and the impact of money and value. He is too small for monopoly, but we will get also there.

The way to handle money, is not taught in schools, as the system is flawed, and by learning early on, he can make better decisions.

This is one of the most important courses, the financial literacy and education. This can assure the wellbeing of a person for his entire life.

How do you see it? Do you learn your kids how to handle financial stuff?
