In 1917, in the middle of the Great War, the rebellion started in the regions of Southern Serbia. This event is known as Toplica Uprising.
Some of the most prominent leaders were hiding in this particular area and were involved in sporadic attacks on Bulgarian and Austrian forces who organized the chase.
