Taal is a unique volcano. An island within a lake on an island within a lake on an island. Located in the province of Batangas on Luzon island it just had its 34th recorded eruption.
Second most active volcano in the Philippines... Well it was level 2 at the time and it went full blown months later!
The caldera was formed at prehistoric times shaping the landscape and making it hard even for the Filipinos to distinguish which volcano actually the Taal is.
With violent eruptions the estimated death toll is 6000. Being part of the famous ring of fire doesn't help...
