I made the decision to kill time by pondering some of life's big questions as I sat in the bus, stalled in traffic. I had no idea, though, that the answers to these queries would just cause additional confusion and hilarity.

First, I questioned the meaning of the term "drive-through" in light of the fact that people must stop and queue.. I mean, shouldn't it be called a "drive-stop-wait-order-and-then-drive-out"?

Then I began to ponder the strange English language, like why we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway. Who thought up these bizarre names?

I even questioned why we give pets human names. I mean, why not call them by their animal sound or something like "meow-meow" or "woof-woof"?

I began to laugh silently as I kept asking myself these confusing questions.. It was like a mental exercise that left me in stitches.

I then questioned why we say "heads up" when we truly mean "duck" though? And why do we say "eating like a bird" when birds are tiny creatures that barely eat anything at all?

The amount of unresolved questions in my head made me feel as though it was going to blow apart. But then I wondered, do mermaids wear seashells to cover their breasts or are they natural exhibitionists?

And if laughter is the best medicine, why isn't it sold in pharmacies? And if vampires can't see their reflections in mirrors, how do they manage to stay so fashionable?

I even questioned why we say "easy as pie" when making pies can be a tough job. And if corn oil comes from corn and vegetable oil comes from vegetables, where does baby oil come from?

The questions kept coming, like why do we call it a "shortcut" when we have to walk through someone's backyard to get there? And can a kangaroo really jump higher than a house?

I was more confused than when I started my mental workout when I came to the conclusion of it.. But the laughter and joy that came with asking and not having answers to these bizarre questions made sitting in traffic so worth it.

So, let's enjoy the confusion and embrace the absurdity of life. Let's laugh at the silly things that leave us confused.. Because, after all, life is just too hilarious to take seriously sometimes.
