In recent days, Dragon Ball fans have received very encouraging news about the future of the franchise. It seems that after 7-8 years, Goku and company are returning with a couple of things that will arrive this year or perhaps in 2027. I think the important thing isn't so much the timing, but that we'll continue enjoying the story, which still has a long way to go in the manga. Two specific pieces of information were revealed. The first is DBS: Beerus, which, from what we understand, is a kind of remake of Battle of Gods, that Dragon Ball Z movie and anime that introduced us to the awakening of the God Beerus and his arrival on Earth, more specifically at Bulma's birthday party.

Fueron dos informaciones en concreto las que se conocieron, la primera es DBS: Beerus, que por lo que se entiende es una especie de remake de la Batalla de los Dioses, aquella película y anime de DBZ que nos presentó el despertar del Dios Beerus y su llegada a la Tierra, más en específico a la fiesta de cumpleaños de Bulma.

But how does this new version differ from that movie/anime? Basically, in two elements. One is the animation. There will be new cuts, new rendering, a new soundtrack, a different voice cast, and improved sound effects. The second is the core character. Before, Beerus, despite being the God of Destruction, had a very peaceful, "friendly," and accommodating personality; his relationship with the group was always good. This time, it won't be like that because it will be more faithful to Akira Toriyama's original vision. This means Beerus will be more imposing, more frightening, and more ruthless. I think this will be really cool because the battle between Goku and him will be more serious and look much better.

Many probably won't see the point of this, and they might be right, but the way I see it is that the franchise is trying to rectify all the mistakes they made with the beginning of Dragon Ball Super. Many people complained about the countless inconsistencies in the story and even about animation that wasn't as good as many expected. In other words, a major "facelift" is coming. This began in Daima, which I personally quite enjoyed, so we can expect that what's coming from here on out is really good for the franchise. And the second element that was revealed these days is the other arc that will take place right after the "universe survival" arc.

Y el segundo elemento que se conoció en estos días fue el otro arco que se llevará a cabo justamente después del de "supervivencia del universo".

To all this, we must add something important: this new anime will be directed by Toyotarō, Toriyama's disciple. Of course, as I mentioned at the beginning, we shouldn't expect this this year, but rather in 2027, given its scale. This news confirms that Dragon Ball is more alive than ever. We hadn't heard anything about it for years, but that wait finally ended on January 25th at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri in Japan. It's interesting to note that this will be his first project since Akira Toriyama's death. Personally, I'm very happy about this news. I think all of us who are fans of the anime and the franchise in general will be eagerly awaiting the return of Goku and Vegeta.
