Hello, my dear friends at Sketchbook. When I discovered this sweet little turtle, I was immediately inspired to create a digital drawing of it using very gentle, tender colors. From the moment I saw its endearing expression, I knew I wanted to capture that same innocence on a digital canvas, adding a personal touch filled with light and softness.
To begin the process, I spent a good amount of time working on the initial sketch, ensuring that the proportions of the shell and its large eyes reflected the sweetness that had so captivated me. Once I was satisfied with the main lines, I moved on to the phase I enjoy the most: selecting the color palette. For this piece, I decided to step away from traditional, vibrant greens and instead opted for a range of pastel tones—incorporating soft mint greens, buttery yellows, and touches of dusty pink to give its cheeks a gentle blush.
The real challenge—and the most fun part—lay in the digital coloring and shading. I worked with various layers and soft-textured brushes, blending the edges to achieve a smooth finish, almost as if it had been painted with digital watercolors. I also added small glints of light to her eyes to bring them to life and give her a profound gaze.

Hola, mis queridos amigos de Sketchbook. Cuando descubrí esta dulce tortuguita, enseguida me motivé a dibujarla en forma digital con colores muy tiernos. Desde el primer momento en que vi su tierna expresión, supe que quería capturar esa misma inocencia en un lienzo digital, dándole un toque personal lleno de luz y suavidad.
Para comenzar con el proceso, dediqué un buen tiempo a diseñar el boceto inicial, asegurándome de que las proporciones del caparazón y sus grandes ojos reflejaran esa dulzura que tanto me había cautivado. Una vez que estuve conforme con las líneas principales, pasé a la fase que más disfruto: la selección de la paleta de colores. En esta ocasión, decidí alejarme de los verdes intensos tradicionales y opté por una gama de tonos pastel, utilizando verdes menta muy suaves, amarillos manteca y pinceladas de rosa viejo para darle un tierno rubor a sus mejillas.
El verdadero reto y la mayor diversión estuvieron en el coloreado y el sombreado digital. Trabajé con diferentes capas y pinceles de textura suave, difuminando los bordes para lograr un acabado terso, casi como si estuviera pintada con acuarelas digitales. También añadí pequeños destellos de luz en sus ojos para darle más vida y una mirada profunda.
