Vitalik Buterin and other developers are 95% sure that the world will see Ethereum 2.0 this year and perhaps this will happen on July 30 at the 5th birthday of Ethereum.
It is about launching the so-called zero phase, during which the Beacon Chain network will be deployed on the POS algorithm. To make everything go smoothly, the developers want to try everything on the test network, provided that they use the three main ether clients and at least 8 weeks.
Currently, the development of the zero phase is 99% complete, and the first phase following it is 90% ready.
