One of the most remarkable beaches of the Ionian Sea with the interesting name of Antisamos is located on the Greek island of Kefalonia. In addition to its natural beauty — Antisamos stretches along the shore of the bay surrounded by green hills — this beach is famous for the fact that in 2000, some episodes of the feature film Captain Corelli's Mandolin with Nicolas Cage, Christian Bale and Penelope Cruz were filmed here.
In September 2015, during my trip to the Ionian Islands, I spent a few days in Kefalonia and I confirm — Antisamos is a luxury beach. Unfortunately, I visited Antisamos only once, and I didn't have time to take many pictures. I chose the best ones and publish them for the first time today.
Antisamos is a pebble beach equipped with everything necessary for recreation. On the beach there is free parking, several bars and a rental company of various swimming equipment.
The entrance to the sea is deep. After a couple of steps, you will have to swim. Look at the pictures ... see the dark stripe? The depth there is more than five meters! And this is one of the advantages of Antisamos, because this is where the real paradise for snorkeling begins. I have never seen such a variety of fish on any beach in Greece!
That's why Antisamos is a must-see place on Kefalonia. Believe me, just for the sake of snorkeling, it is worth getting to this wonderful beach.
If you need more information about this beach, check out YouTube. There you will find many videos of Antisamos and its surroundings. But, as they say, it is better to see once for yourself. :)
Thank you for stopping by!
