Chapter 1: The Way of the Warrior

Hello community, this time I bring you the first chapter of this series, so far I am liking the game and in the future I will probably decide on a magician, although I am still testing the difficulty levels of the game, as well as the new modality that have this edition.

“After escaping from the claws of the dragon together with a Stormcloak soldier, we made our way out of the fort and although everyone was fighting for Stormcloaks or Imperials, I was only looking for a way to survive in the midst of this war and because of the force I had to choose a side, although later I would regret saving the life of a stormcloak "

  • Survival mode:
"Survival mode incorporates the need to eat, sleep and stay warm. Additionally, it adds additional challenges such as no fast travel, reduced weight carrying capacity, and the ability to level up only by falling asleep. See the survival mode entry in help for more information.
    Activate survival mode?

(You can turn survival mode on or off at any time in the game settings menu)”

Note: I find it quite a fun challenge for a warrior so I decided to take the challenge, albeit on normal difficulty just to make my progress faster, although I must add that at the point in the story where I am currently it is very fun to do it on hard. I would like to play it on legendary, but the number of times I die is not normal...

My goal here at least is to become the leader of the companions, get enough gold and then pass it on to another character (possibly the magician) to start the adventure in legendary.

I arrived at Riverwood and I met an elf who, in exchange for helping him with a woman he likes, would continue to be my first adventure partner.

I needed Septims and didn't have much to offer just a few weapons and armor that I took from corpses as I fought to be free. I sold it as soon as possible but those septims would not be enough for the locals to continue my adventure after informing me about the civil war that was happening in Skyrim and telling them about the Dragon's attack. I understood perfectly that I had to support the imperials, because without an established order Skyrim would be destroyed by civil war or by Dragon himself.

image.png

The locals offered me the job of lumberjack, usually it's pretty tough for local women, but me being a Norse warrior I could handle this job

Btw: the blue bar indicates fatigue, the higher the fatigue on your character, the maximum mana level goes down.

The next day I left for Whiterun and on the way I met Aela, who I helped fight a giant that was invading a local farm, after helping her she told me that I could be a good shield sister and if I was interested, I would talk to her the "leader" of the peers.

Arriving at the gates of Whiterun I told the soldier that I had information about Cause Boscoso and the Dragon attack, they immediately received me, although as I was a foreigner "they would be watching me"

image.png

Entering Whiterun, I used the forge to make myself a backpack which would help me with carrying capacity and stamina, then I went through the companions' hall and talked to their leader, a tall man with long white hair that reached his length. the neck and scars, of advanced age, although he looked quite robust and ready to fight with whoever threatened his own.

“I would like to join the companions”

After telling him this, I put myself to the test with Vilkas, a "shield brother" who tested me in the courtyard, after seeing what I could do, he sent me to the blacksmith of the companions to do various errands such as delivering his sword so that sharpen it and give the shield to Aela.

image.png

image.png

"My name is Eorlund Greymane, I work at the forge of Heaven, the finest Skyrim steel in all of Tamriel"

Once the deliveries were ready, they showed me where the barracks are and although I still had to prove what it was made of, they welcomed me 😊

Immediately I accepted my first assignment, some small-time bandits were threatening the travelers of Whiterun and wanted to know if I could beat them.

image.png

“Camping supplies”

I took advantage and before continuing my trip I made some outdoor camping supplies.

Take advantage and tell the Jarl what happened to the Dragon, the storm and imperial cloaks.

image.png

Jar Balgruuf the Great: Irileth, send a detachment to Riverwood immediately.

After this I was introduced to the court sorcerer who needed the Dragon Stone. Leaving the palace, the Whiterun messenger handed me a note from the Jarl of another county, stating that he needed help against some bandits trapped in a mine.

image.png

After finishing them without much struggle I found a sphere where when I touched it I felt a voice in my head. It was Meridia where she told me to take her light to Mount Kilkreath, since a dark evil was taking over her temple choosing me as its Champion for this task.

I killed the thieves in the mine and collected the bounty, and I left but not before accepting a proposal from the Jarl to buy a house on the site (where he didn't really have many septims so I ignored him lol). However, sooner rather than later I received a letter from a local in the mountains.

image.png

“A long time ago, my ancestors built a great house in the mountains, north of the Bile Ravine mine. They called it Hendraheim and it was as majestic as Sovngarde itself.
As the last member of my clan that I am, I want to pass it on to someone whose veins run with the blood of the Nordic warriors, they say you know how to fight, but I would like you to show it sword in hand.
Eydvina Shield-Hearth

I just thought at this moment: Great! new house and an easy fight… how wrong I was.

image.png

I arrived and told that I received this letter, after just saying: "I understand" took her sword which was enchanted with fire and there I was, with only imperial armor and my desire to have a new house, she put on the best armor AND I ONLY WON THANKS TO A BEAR WHO DECIDED TO HELP ME SACRIFICING HIS LIFE WHILE I HIT HIM :(

image.png

Her last words were:

When the world was young, things were simpler.

It was them or us. We were fighting to survive and find glory.

Now we fight against our shield brothers and sisters, under banners that change with the breath of the wind.

When I kill Hjarek in battle, I swear never to take up arms again. I found honor in this decision, but shame in its consequences.

The bards do not sing the stories of those who die at home, bent by time. If I want to see him again, I must face Tsun at the Whalebone Bridge and earn my rightful place in the Hall of Valor.

I miss you brother, wait for me in Sovngarde.

These were the words of a brave warrior who not even I alone could against her, resisted not only the pain of mourning and the death of friends by her own sword, but also the calm and cold absence of her loved ones killed by a war where no there are winners, only dead for their own beliefs

image.png

Leaving towards the east I say goodbye, these were my first moments in Skyrim, a land threatened by a dragon and a civil war which has left many victims in its wake.

image.png

Skyrim is a title that I like a lot since it gives you the opportunity to have many adventures, unfortunately I have run into many bugs throughout the game, having to start the game over and over again (one of the reasons why I don't like to waste so much time playing on high difficulties and survival mode) even so I want to give it a chance until I decide to play the magician, I hope you like Skyrim as much as I do and I'll see you in the next chapter.
