Looking for new options

Últimamente me he dado cuenta que se esta haciendo cada vez mas complicado comprar las cosas de necesidad básica conforme pasan los meses, siempre cobro el mismo monto y cada vez compro menos cosas, se ha vuelto muy estresante y difícil ahorrar el dinero para poder comprar las cosas necesarias, antes solíamos comprar dos leches en polvo, 5 o 6 pollos entre otras cosas mas que solíamos comprar de a dos o más. Hoy quisimos ir a otro lugar y quizás conseguir precios un poco mas amigables, la verdad es que conseguimos muchas ofertas pero tambien hay otras cosas que si estan costosas en todos lados, no importa donde vayas.

Lately, I’ve realized that it’s getting harder and harder to buy basic necessities as the months go by. I always get paid the same amount, but I’m buying fewer and fewer things. It’s become very stressful and difficult to save enough money to buy the things I need. Before, we used to buy two cans of powdered milk, five or six chickens, and other items that we’d usually buy in pairs or in larger quantities. Today we wanted to try a different store to see if we could find slightly better prices. The truth is, we found a lot of deals, but there are also other items that are expensive everywhere—no matter where you go.

Fuimos al supermercado llamado PARAMO que queda un poco lejos de nuestra casa, solo había ido una vez y fue en diciembre con mi mama, mi hijo y mi esposo no conocían este lugar hasta hoy y les encanto porque es un lugar mas amplio y con muchísima mas variedad que el supermercado que tenemos en casa, aunque no pude comprar demasiado pollo, carne o leche, si logre comprar muchas cosas mas que normalmente por aquí salen mas costosas y sentí que me rindió el dinero un poco más, aunque si me hubiese gustado poder comprar por lo menos 4 pollos pero solo pude comprar dos.

We went to the supermarket called PARAMO, which is a little far from our house. I’d only been there once before, back in December with my mom. My son and my husband hadn’t been there before today, and they loved it because it’s a much larger place with a much wider variety than the supermarket near our house. Although I couldn’t buy much chicken, meat, or milk, I did manage to buy a lot of other things that are usually more expensive around here, and I felt like I got a little more bang for my buck. I would have liked to buy at least four chickens, but I could only buy two.

Tambien compre un kg de carne, salió bastante económico y trae muchísimo, en el supermercado de mi casa hubiese traído mucho menos que eso.

I also bought a kilogram of meat; it was pretty cheap and there was a lot of it. At the supermarket near my house, I would have gotten much less than that.

La verdad que comprar carne y pollo es lo que mas nerviosa me pone, ya que eso es una de las cosas mas costosas en este país, a pesar de que logre comprar varias cosas para SOBREVIVIR hasta la próxima fecha de cobro, estoy bastante angustiada porque cada dia tengo que hacer magia con la comida para que rinda lo suficiente, repartiendo entre 3 personas, no es facil.

The truth is, buying meat and chicken is what makes me the most nervous, since those are some of the most expensive items in this country. Even though I managed to buy a few things to SURVIVE until my next payday, I’m pretty stressed out because every day I have to work magic with the food to make it last long enough for three people—it’s not easy.

Compre un poco de todo, incluso la comida de mi gatito, aun me faltaron cosas por comprar, pero ya había dejado mi cuenta en 0, asi que será en una próxima oportunidad jaja, a pesar de todo, creo que de ahora en adelante comprare casi siempre en ese supermercado a pesar de que es lejos hay mas variedad de TODO, incluso pude comprar papas para freír a un precio super económico, por aquí eso suele costar excesivamente caro., tambien tienen buenos precios de verduras incluso mucho mejor que en cualquier lugar que he visto.

I bought a little bit of everything, including food for my kitten. There were still some things I needed to buy, but I’d already spent all my money, so I’ll get them next time, haha. All in all, I think from now on I’ll almost always shop at that supermarket—even though it’s far away, they have a wider variety of EVERYTHING. I was even able to buy french fries at a super affordable price; around here, they’re usually way too expensive. They also have great prices on vegetables—even better than anywhere else I’ve seen.
