This is the flower of Ceiba insignis or "white floss-silk" tree. The trunk of this tree is covered in large prickles which contribute to quite an intimidating look. These trees are very popular in Israel and can be found decorating parks and gardens.
I took this photo while walking in my hometown of Holon.
