Hello everyone :)

With this macro photography session I sought to combine technical precision with an aesthetic approach, keeping the focus on the visual complexities inherent to the dried plant that i chose as my subject.
The choice of lighting is based on the search for ideal conditions to achieve tonal fidelity in the objects photographed, in this case an artificial white light that ensured a faithful reproduction of the colors present in the central object of this session.
I found this plant that represents still life and chose it for its richness in textures and tones, with a color palette dominated by toasted tones, browns and orange nuances.
Full of roughness and irregular layers, this plant provided the visual substrate i wanted, since the objective was not only to record the morphology of the plant, but also to visually express the narrative contained in its texture.

Before moving onto the result...

My introductory thoughts about macro photography:

It's amazing how macros with their blurred background can result in such different images full of contrasts and textures especially with this kind of subjects.
In the world of photography, especially macro photography, there is a universe of things available to everyone, enabling totally different and original approaches.

Among the various possible techniques to shoot macros, this is perhaps the most affordable and effective technique for those who have a camera with removable lens.
We can simply remove the lens and reverse the direction, and by using an inverter ring it ends up being more comfortable and facilitates the process.
