As a Bboy, my main goal is to create a style that is uniquely my own.
That means to say, I aim to create an identity on the dance floor.
And then, I let that identity flow into my everyday life.
That's why I don't think passion is a mere hobby or pastime you dabble in from time to time.
It's your identity.
Admittedly, I am not very good in learning the technically difficult moves. I am more so good at creating movement from simple basics. Then I splice them together to form something akin to my identity.
I want people to say, "That's Bboy Alden!" when they see me throwing it down on the dance floor.
Then, I want the non-dancers out there to say, "That's Alden! He's the Bboy."
I honestly don't even need people to say, "That's the guy who got first place/who's a viral dance sensation online!" These are great, but, I think identity is more important.
That should be your main aim with passion.
Be it.
Create an identity with it.
That's how you stand out.
That's how you be your unique you and realize how special you are.
