Over here, recently, there's been a piece of news going around about my friend, a popular YouTuber who allegedly sexually harassed a young girl.
Damning screenshots of conversations have been put up.
The girl in question and her friend wrote about it on Facebook, relating how they went to the police and all that.
Subsequently, news outlet are covering this shit and condemning my friend.
Other YouTubers are also coming out to talk shit about him.
My friend has written on Facebook how it was all false allegations.
But this angers the fuck out of me.
When pitch forks are up and when a lynch mob is created, nobody gives a fuck about objectivity anymore.
Nobody gives a fuck about fairness, intelligence and just plain being a good person.
This is my main argument towards people with pitchforks sitting on the sidelines.
You weren't there.
You will never know how it really went down.
You'll never know who is tell the truth.
You're just reading.
Because it is THAT easy to lie on the internet today.
And yet, people swallow it up and go, "I read it on Facebook just the other day!"
Do you really think you're that smart now just because you read the news? THE NEWS?!
You've your personal agenda.
Admit it.
Just one day, when you're on the receiving end of unfounded accusations and find yourself seated on the chair in front of a thousand fucking judges, you'd know how much you'd wish to be let off the hook.
Bitching on social media is merely an escape from your own insecurities.
And it's ironic that you need to look to celebrities just for that.
Because you'll find the next thing to hate on soon enough.
So fucking just shut up and save it. Nobody wants to hear it anymore.
And start to think how you can actually show some form of self-preservation.
I wrote about here before that social media is nothing but a mirror.
Are you going to use it to face the person in front of you?
Or smear shit behind on the wall for others to see?
