Esta tarde no es una cualquiera; hoy tengo una cita especial sobre el tablero de 64 casillas con Santiago. Nos sentaremos frente a frente, acomodaremos las piezas y nos sumergiremos en una de las aperturas más elegantes y clásicas que existen: la Ruy López. Explicarle la intención detrás de cada movimiento, desde el avance del peón de rey hasta el despliegue estratégico del alfil, me llena el corazón de un entusiasmo único.
Para mí, el ajedrez no es simplemente un juego de estrategia; es un idilio que comenzó cuando apenas tenía seis años. Desde esa edad, mover una torre o descubrir un jaque se convirtió en mi forma favorita de soñar despierto y divertirme. Suele decirse que el ajedrez es maravilloso para la mente y la agilidad del cerebro, y aunque es verdad que estimula el pensamiento, para mí su mayor magia radica en la emoción: es un refugio donde el tiempo se detiene y la mente encuentra paz. Enseñar a Santiago hoy es mi manera de honrar todo el amor que este juego me ha dado desde la infancia, compartiendo esa chispa con alguien más.

Hello, dear hivers!
This afternoon is not just any ordinary day; today I have a special date over the 64-square board with Santiago. We will sit face-to-face, set up the pieces, and dive into one of the most elegant and classic chess openings in existence: the Ruy Lopez. Explaining to him the intention behind every move, from the initial king's pawn push to the strategic deployment of the bishop, fills my heart with a unique kind of enthusiasm.
For me, chess is not simply a game of strategy; it is a love affair that began when I was just six years old. Ever since that age, moving a rook or discovering a check became my favorite way to daydream and have fun. People often say that chess is wonderful for the mind and brain health, and while it certainly sharpens our intellect, its true magic for me lies in the emotion: it is a sanctuary where time stands still and the mind finds peace. Teaching Santiago today is my way of honoring all the love this game has given me since childhood, passing that spark on to someone else.
