Roy Patty Lake is located in Daker, in northern Senegal, and is called "Lake of the Rose" because of its rose water. The main reason for the strange color of the water is one of the chemicals produced by local algae. Salt content is expected to reach more than 40 per cent in some areas of the lake, where residents in the vicinity must use fruit oil to protect their skin from salt water erosion. It is noteworthy that because of the water is very saline, used by locals to extract cooking salt, to sell in other areas within the country.
