The Blue-tailed Damselfly (Ischnura elegans)

Ischnura elegans, commonly called the blue-tailed damselfly or bluetail, is a damselfly belonging to the Coenagrionidae family. Closely related to dragonflies because they are members of the Odonata order. It is called the bluetail because both males and females have a light blue tail tip.

The thing that distinguishes between males and females, males have the characteristics of a green body with black stripes on the back. While females have the characteristics of an orange body, some are pink, with black stripes on the back. What you see in the pictures here is the male blue tail.
