Here's my contribution for today's #monomad challenge round.

This jumping spider has been staying in my yard for two weeks since I brought it home from a coffee shop. Poppy was the name I gave her because she was a female heavy jumping spider (Hyllus sp.) with a cute face like a puppet doll.

Two weeks ago, I found Poppy at a coffee shop. She unexpectedly fell from the coffee shop's roof and crawled into my sling bag at that very moment. I brought Poppy home and put her on a mango tree in my yard. The mango tree that became her home was only a few inches taller than me.

I checked in on Poppy every day to see if she was staying or leaving. But she seemed to like her time there, as evidenced by the fact that she had been there for two weeks.

Poppy, like other jumping spiders, had a killing instinct, so I didn't bother feeding her. She can catch flies and other small insects there, and she can even kill a dragonfly larger than herself.

Now I'm beginning to consider finding a male to ensure that she has friends and is not lonely. If they do mate, it's a good thing since Poppy will have more junior jumpers. I'm not sure where to look for it. I'm hoping to find it soon.
