One of my favorite fungi is the Marasmiellus genus, which contains 250 species that have been described. In this genus, most of the species are tiny in size, with tall, slender stems and caps that mimic parachutes. This tiny mushroom has the characteristics that make it perfect for being taken with a macro lens, even with a simple smartphone camera.
Tetrapyrgos nigripes , a synonym of Marasmiellus nigripes, is the scientific name for this species. These were captured recently at a local forest park on the outskirts of our town.
I'll be submitting these pics to the #monomad challenge round for today.
All of the images here are my own work, taken with Xiaomi POCO NFC smartphone and an assembled external macro lens.
