Hey everyone! Before that, I want to wish Eid Mubarak to my Muslim friends who are celebrating. I hope that Eid al-Fitr brings happiness and peace to you.
Maybe now is a difficult time to hunt for mushrooms because the dry season is still going on. But again, I didn't want to miss the #FungiFriday challenge, and I just so happened to have a stock of shrooms from the mushroom walk I did the previous rainy season.
There is the red bald cup, which in mycology is called Cookeina sulcipes. This is a typical fungus that is mostly found in tropical forests in Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia. C. sulcipes is physically very similar to its relative, Cookeina tricholoma, but you will know the difference because it is almost furless.
I don't know who came up with the idea of turning this cup into a toilet. There's a lot of insect excrement in there. This must have been done by the naughty beetles. Damn it! They defecate carelessly. LOL!
In the deep forest in North Aceh, to be precise in the Blang Kolam Waterfall environment, there are some polyporous mushrooms belonging to the genus Ganoderma that are found on moss-covered wood. This genus of mushrooms can even survive extreme summers, except you won't find any moss there.
Usually I'm not too interested in Ganoderma, especially the giant mushrooms. But because the mushrooms are tiny, photographing them with a macro lens makes them interesting and a joy to see.
