Among the family of centipedes (Scolopendridae), there is the genus Rhysida; this is the second largest genus of centipedes found in the Neotropics, Indo-Malaya, and Africa.
Talking about centipedes, this is the arthropod animal that I was most afraid of after scorpions when I was a child. Sometimes our parents scare us with centipedes. That was their ultimate trick to keep us from going too far from home to play.
...and for a long time, I rarely saw centipedes again, until one time last January, I saw this animal again in the woods, which are located south of my town.
It's just that this one feels a bit different from the others.
This one has unique characteristics and is the first I have seen: a blue-legged centipede.
This centipede seems to have characteristics that match the species Rhysida nuda, which is said to be endemic to Australia.
