Bamboo Borer in My Yard

This is a bamboo borer that I found in my yard some time ago. In entomology, it is called Chlorophorus annularis, a species of longhorn beetle belonging to the family Cerambycidae. The species name was first published by the Danish entomologist, Johan Christian Fabricius, in 1787.

Unlike other longhorn beetles, the bamboo borer has unique physical characteristics. It is yellow (some of them are light brown), has dark eyes, a long abdomen, and its back has a pattern like the art of carving on war shields belonging to the tribes in Papua. It feeds on plant leaves and is categorized as a pest to plants.
