Do you like visiting old buildings? I like them very much. When I look at them, I see a challenge to the past. The mysteries of time are imprinted on such buildings. Even the stones they are built of are almost like talking. Therefore, as a history buff, such places are always on my travel list.

Turkey is a magnificent country in terms of historical buildings. It has been home to many great civilizations from Rome to Byzantium, from Byzantium to Seljuks and Ottomans. Many magnificent structures such as bridges, inns, mosques, churches built by these deep-rooted civilizations have survived to the present day. In today's content, I will tell you about one of them. I will talk about my visit to the Ak Mosque, one of the most beautiful mosques in Konya.

Eski yapıları gezmeyi sever misiniz? Ben çok severim. Onlara baktığım zaman geçmişe bir meydan okuyuş görürüm. Bu tür yapıların üzerine zamanın gizemleri sinmiştir. İnşa edildikleri taşlar bile neredeyse konuşacak gibidir. O nedenle tarih meraklısı biri olarak bu tür yerler gezi listemde daima bulunur.

Türkiye tarihi yapılar anlamında muhteşem bir ülke. Roma'dan, Bizans'a, Bizans'tan Selçuklu ve Osmanlıya kadar birçok büyük medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmış. Bu köklü medeniyetlerin inşa ettiği köprü, han, cami, kilise gibi birçok görkemli yapı günümüze günümüze kadar gelmiş durumda. Bugünkü içeriğimde sizlere onlardan birini anlatacağım. Konya'nın en güzel camilerinden biri olan Ak Camii'ye yaptığım ziyaretten bahsedeceğim.

The Ak Mosque was built in 1280 according to the plaque on the wall. Like the classical mosques built at that time, a lot of stone and wood materials were used in its construction. According to my guesses, it must have been frequently repaired. When I went near the mosque, there were traces of these repairs.

Ak Camii duvardakitabelaya göre 1280 yılında yapılmış. O dönemde yapılan klasik camiler gibi yapımında bolca taş ve ahşap malzeme kullanılmış. Tahminlerime göre sıkça onarımdan geçmiş olmalı. Caminin yakınına gittiğimde bu onarımlara ait izler vardı.

I entered the mosque and was greeted by a beautiful, dim light. I immediately started to look around. The harmony of stone and wood was striking here. There were many deep windows in the thick walls of the mosque. The windows were designed to be in harmony with the interior of the mosque. There were also chandeliers hanging down from the high ceiling of the mosque. These chandeliers had many lamps. When all of these chandeliers are illuminated on important nights, it is a beautiful sight. But if I have to make a choice, I prefer dim light.

Caminin içine girdim. Güzel, loş bir ışık karşıladı beni. Hemen etrafı incelemeye başladım. Taş ile ahşabın uyumu burada göze çarpıyordu. Caminin kalın duvarlarındaki derin pencereler sayı olarak bir hayli fazlaydı. Pencereler caminin içi ile uyumlu olacak şekilde tasarlanmıştı. Ayrıca caminin yüksek tavanından aşağıya doğru sarkıtılmış avizeler vardı. Bu avizelerin çok sayıda lambası vardı. Önemli gecelerde bu avizelerin tamamı ışıklandırıldığında çok güzel bir görüntü oluşuyor. Ama bir seçim yapmam gerekirse ben loş ışığı tercih ederim.

Some mosques have important buildings around them. I went outside to see what the situation was here. There were no important buildings as I thought. But the streets around the mosque and the doors leading to those streets were quite beautiful.

Bazı camilerin çevresinde önemli yapılar olur. Burada durumun ne olduğunu anlamak için dışarıya çıktım. Düşündüğüm gibi önemli yapılar yoktu. Fakat caminin çevresindeki sokaklar ve o sokaklara açılan kapılar oldukça güzeldi.
