Carnival week comes soon in Germany. Carnival has a religious meaning but I like its seasonal aspect; it is a festival to say goodbye to the long winter and celebrate the arrival of spring.
Kids wear costumes to kindergartens and schools. My daughter brought a bed cover to be a ghost last year. It was her invention, not because of my laziness 😂 Among princesses, she was a bed cover ghost with a ribbon on a corner, which was done as a last minutes deco by one of her teachers. She came back happily with the bedcover.
This year, she get a year older and had some request for her costume such as a witch, Anna from Frozen etc. I talked to her I'm happy to help her but I would like to make something she can wear also after carnival. So no Anna dress 😅
We decided to make a simple black witch dress so that it can be a daily clothes with a colorful pockets attached after Carnival. We went to buy fabric and now it's time to sew it. Carnival is approaching!
My daughter picked a nice witchy button to make a deco around the neck.
The dress will be finished within next days. We'll go to buy paper to make a witch hat tomorrow.

ドイツではもうすぐカーニバルです。カーニバルには宗教的な意味もありますが、私は長い冬に別れを告げ、春の到来を祝うお祭りとしてのカーニバルが好きです。
幼稚園や学校では、子どもたちが仮装をして登校します。うちの子は昨年はお化けになるためにベッドカバーを持ってきました。これは私の怠慢ではなく、子どもがそうしたいと言ったのです・・・・・・ 😂プリンセスがたくさんいる中、先生がかわいそうと思ったのか、ベッドカバーの端っこにリボンをつけてくれました。泣いて帰ってきたらどうしよう w なんて心配はよそに、子どもはベッドカバーを持ってうれしそうに帰ってきました。
でも今年は1歳大きくなって、さすがに魔女やアナと雪のプリンセスのアナなどきちんとしたコスチュームの希望が出てきました。カーニバルが終わっても着れるようなものでないともったいないよということで、アナのドレスはなし😅
子どもと話し合って、魔女の宅急便のキキみたいなシンプルな黒いドレスを作って、カーニバルの後にカラフルなポケットをつけることにしました。ちょっとだけデコがあるといいねと言うことで、首元には子どもが生地屋さんで選んだボタンをつけることになりました。なかなか魔女っぽくていいですねー。
ワンピースは今週完成しそうです。明日は魔女の帽子を作るために紙を街中の手芸店に買いに行こうと思います。
