This morning, something interesting happened. After dropping my daughter off at her school, I decided to stop by a supermarket to get some tomatoes.
On my way back, I saw a gardener replacing the plants in a shopping street. The plants they were replacing included a bell-shaped Kalanchoe, which I had wanted to grow for quite some time. A few days ago, I even thought about secretly taking a branch of it to make a cutting as I walked by 😁
I asked the gardener, "Could I have the Kalanchoe that was here before if you still have it?" To my delight, he kindly gave me a pot. Yay! The Kalanchoes were sadly in a trash bag in the background of the photo below. But I understand the gardener has a business to run. Thank you so much for sharing it with me. I will take care the one I got well for its friends.
There were four plants tightly packed in the pot, so this weekend, I'll divide them and share them with my food business friends who love plants. Kalanchoe is easy to propagate, so I might end up with even more plants to share.
My daughter has probably remembered me wondering whether to buy this type of Kalanchoe many times, so I think she'll be happy to see it when she get home. I'm looking forward to it.
So, it seems that wishes can come true, even if they're small ones. Well, it's not that small. This type of Kalanchoe can cost around 10 euros in stores, so it was a great find and a rewarding morning walk.

今朝おもしろいことがありました。子供を学校まで送ったあと、トマトを食べたくて近所のスーパーに寄った帰り道、植木屋さんが商店街の植物を植え替えていました。実は、植え替える前のカランコエはかなり前から育てたかった釣鐘型のカランコエで、数日前に通りかかった時にこっそり枝を一本もらおうかなと思ったのでした😁
植木屋さんに「前にうわっていたカランコエまだあったらもらってもいいですか？」と聞いたら、快く一鉢分けてくれました。やったー！カランコエたちはかわいそうに下の写真の背景のゴミ袋に入っていたのです。でも、植木屋さんもビジネスだからしょうがないですよね。分けてくれてありがとうございました。
鉢の中にはみっちり4株あったので、週末に鉢を分けて、植物が好きなお友達にお裾分けしようと思います。カランコエは挿木が簡単なのでいっぱい子株を作って、さらなるお裾分けも・・・なんて。子供は多分私がこのカランコエを買うか迷っているのを何度となく見ているので、帰ってきたら見つけて喜ぶかな。楽しみです。
ということで、願えば叶うかもしれません。小さいものですが。いや、小さくないです。この種類のカランコエはお店で買うと10ユーロ（1700円）くらいすることもあるので、いいもらいもの、朝の散歩の三文の徳でした。
