Sometimes dreams come true in a different form / 予想外の形で夢が叶うことも
I will be a maintainer of a community garden next to a market hall next year. This year, the company that operates the market hall and I applied to a state's idea contest and grant program, and we were awarded a grant to create a community garden 🥳
I had always wanted to have my own garden or even a farm. My dream came true in a completely different way than I had expected.
I had been saying "I want a garden," "I want to grow plants in a bigger space", and I sold plants at the market and I grew veggies and flowers in the containers in front of the market hall. Then this opportunity came to me.

The community garden will be built using IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container), which are usually used to transport liquids. The owner of the company had an idea to cut off the top and put a wooden frame around an IBC to turn it into a large planter. The containers can be moved with a forklift, so the form of the community garden is flexible.
I pulled out my gardening books to get inspirations of what plants to plant in the seven containers.
The extremely cold weather in Germany is supposed to ease up a bit next week. I will have a lots of ideas for the community garden 😁

来年からマーケットに併設のコミュニティーガーデンのメンテナーになることになりました。今年、州のアイディアコンテスト＋助成プログラムにマーケットホールを運営する会社と応募して、助成金が交付され、コミュニティーガーデンを作ることになったのです。
昔から自分の庭や畑がほしいなあ・・・と思っていたのですが、予想とはまったく違う形で夢がかないました。
「庭がほしいなあ」「植物をもっと大きなスペースで育てたいなあ」と言ったり、マーケットで植物を売ってみたり、マーケットホールの前にあるコンテナに植物を植えたりしていたら、今回のような機会がやってきました。

コミュニティーガーデンはIBCコンテナというコンテナを使って作る予定です。IBCコンテナは液体輸送のためのコンテナなのですが、マーケットホールを運営する会社のオーナーのアイディアで、上部を切り取ってまわりに木の枠をつけて大きなプランターに作りかえます。IBCコンテナはフォークリフトで動かせるので、庭の形はモジュールを配置するように自由に変えられます。

7つのコンテナにどのような植物を植えるか、ヒントを得るべくガーデニングの本を引っ張り出してきました。
ドイツは来週は極寒の日々が少し和らぐようで、コミュニティーガーデンのアイディアがたくさん出てきそうです 😊
