I have a favorite Yin Yoga teacher Chiori who I follow for few years on YouTube. She is quiet and calm, but has a strong core, and sometimes makes funny faces on her Instagram... Also, she teaches yoga near Sagami Bay, where I used to go fishing with my grandparents when I was little, so I feel a sense of kinship with her.
A few days ago, I saw on her Instagram that she was going to make one of her classes held on a new moon day a charity event and donate the proceeds to support the earthquake relief efforts in Hokuriku. The designated payment method was not available to me because I live overseas, so I messaged her and she kindly said it would be OK if I donated somewhere! So I decided to join the class.
It was a nice class same as her YouTube yoga videos. I felt good to stretch out my body in a relaxed atmosphere.
I think we are living in difficult time but at the same time good era that technology has made it possible for individuals to collect donations and participate in support activities in various ways.
I sent 10,000 yen (around 70 euros) to the Japanese Red Cross which was mentioned by @yadamaniart, including the donation from my food business at a local market and the donation for yesterday's yoga session.
I hope that those affected by the disaster will be able to return to their normal, peaceful lives and that the disaster areas will be able to recover.
