There is not many opportunities to do gardening in winter in northern Europe. I could have started spring/summer plants at home but this year I was away from home last month.
Then what my grandma was doing in her kitchen came up in my mind. She put a carrot top on a small dish and pour some water. After some time, greens come out from it. I remember clearly she said "it's good to have greens in the kitchen" by showing it.
I put a radicchio core and a parsnip top in a glass. I enjoyed it in my kitchen in Linz. In the end of my stay, I used them for cooking.
In addition to the mini radicchio-parsnip garden, I had a branch of pothos too. I took this along with me in a plastic box so that I can continue growing it at home. It will remind me the intensive creative one month at an art university.
Its mama plant is the one in the right side of the photo next to the black speaker.
So even you don't have a balcony, you can grow plants and have a mini garden :)
Happy gardening!
