Last weekend, I was working for a Food + DIY workshop where we made onigiri makers and then used them to prepare onigiri. It was a great success, and I’m still enjoying the feeling of that wonderful time.
The day before the workshop, I was walking down the street and found cherry blossoms in full bloom in a church garden. Since the workshop was related to Japan, I thought, “It would be so nice if I could decorate the table with these…” I walked past at first, but then turned back and thought, “Why not just ask?”
When I spoke to people in the building, they said they were just renting the space and weren’t completely sure but it would be fine. So I was able to get some cherry blossom branches.
I carefully carried them from Leipzig to the makerspace in Augustusburg where the workshop took place. On the workshop day, they added a beautiful touch to the table ☺️ I think the participants enjoyed them as well. Now I think about planting a Sakura tree in my garden ........

先週末はおにぎりメーカーを作っておにぎりを作る、Food + DIYワークショップをしていました。大盛況のうちに終わった楽しい時間の余韻を味わっているところです。
そのワークショップの前日に道を歩いていると、教会の庭で桜が満開でした。日本に関するワークショップなので「ああ、これ飾れたらいいなあ・・・」と思いながらいったん通り過ぎて、「そうだ、もらえるか聞いてみよう！」と引き返しました。建物にいた人に聞いてみると、彼女たちも賃貸している立場でよくわからないけれど、いいんじゃない？とのことで、桜の枝をゲットしました。
ライプツィヒからワークショップが開催されたアウグストゥスブルクのメイカースペースまで大事に運んで、当日はテーブルに彩りをてくれました ☺️ 参観者のみなさんにも喜んでもらえたことと思います。桜の木を庭に植えたいなあ・・・
