After the first week of my residency in Seiffen, I'm back in Leipzig for the weekend to see my family and plants. Also it is a good chance to pickup my tools I would like to use in Seiffen.
I was only away for one week, yet home feels strangely fresh. The city overflows with things and information — inspiration flies in just from walking around.
On the other hand my life in Seiffen is simple. Improvising with what's there. And it's the scarcity that sparks ideas and lets me dive deep into making.
Rather than one being better, I learn from contrast between the two. Perhaps what I really want is a cozy home base — and a life of venturing out from there, project to project
Tomorrow, back to the wood, the ideas, and the quiet mountain life.

ザイフェンでのレジデンシー最初の1週間を終え、週末は家族と植物に会うためにライプツィヒへ戻ってきました。ザイフェンで使いたい道具を持っていく良い機会でもあります。
たった1週間しか離れていなかったのに、家がなんだか新鮮に感じます。街にはモノや情報があふれていて、歩いているだけで次々とインスピレーションがわいてきます。一方で、ザイフェンでの暮らしはとてもシンプルです。そこにあるものを工夫しながら使います。むしろ、その「足りなさ」がアイデアを生み、ものづくりに深く没頭させてくれます。
どちらが良いということではなく、その対比から多くを学んでいる気がします。私が求めているのは、心地よく帰れる拠点があって、そこからプロジェクトごとに旅立っていくような暮らしなのかもしれません。
また明日からはまた静かな山の暮らしに戻って、木と向き合い、アイデアを形にしていきます。
