Here's another poem translated into English, again from my teen years. This time, I've tweaked/reworded it a bit so it resembles more of the style I currently use for my poems. Again, not a perfect translation, but it'll do.

I'm guessing I wrote this after I'd learned my lesson re: something teen-related. Probably not a nice thing, judging by the choice of words.

Here it is:

AN EGOTISTICAL SELF

Would I stand in your way
And tell you I’d buy your thoughts
While selling old tales and trinkets?

Would all my fictions then go belly-up?

Visualize words I usually use
you’d recognize news-bearers in them,
You wouldn’t want to hear a sound they make.

Would it sate my soul if you actually listened?

Would it break a couple of dignities
And shatter a loyalty,
But not my egotistical self?

It would
Open your eyes to how I see things
Blind to the good and deaf to the right?

Wrong
It would be better to assume
I eclipse anything that shines

Would you see me in a different light
If the sun sets while
I still dabble in words?

I did that, once, then.

Would it offend you to know
I’ve since buried that self,
It’s but a distant dreary dream.
