The need for inclusion within the regular school for special needs student - Part 1

Students with special need are those challenged with learning. It requires support that goes beyond the norm.

There are different types of special needs and challenges. For instance, there are learning, developmental, behavioural, and physical challenges.

Moreover, these challenges can differ in their severity, or in how much they impair learning.

Special Needs education is for students who have challenges or disabilities that can interfere with their learning.

Students who meet this criterion can’t be taught in a regular classroom because learning environments, teaching approaches, and curricula may need to be adapted to support them.

This tailored approach isn’t normally offered in general education.

SNE is for students with disabilities, in consideration of their individual educational needs, which aims at total individual development.

Not every student is entitled to a special education, though. SNS are those who fall under the following;

●learning disabilities,
●️attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
●️emotional disorders
●️cognitive challenges
●️autism
●️hearing impairment
●️visual impairment
●️speech or language impairment
●️developmental delay
●️physical disabilities.
