Spending most of my life in hilly/mountain areas, I have seen and observed lots of monks since I was little. And I think it was the maroon color that really intrigued me. My house was located in the perfect distance between the city and the outskirts (where all the curves for the hills would start) And because of a strong influence of Buddhism, I often had the pleasure of seeing monks and priests praying, especially during nights. And it was just beautiful every time.

I made this piece sometime ago, which was also sold in an exhibition later on and I am glad that someone now has a little part of my life. This is what I LOVE about art and it's ability to connect with others. It fills me with joy when someone is able to see a little of themselves in what I do and if it takes a place in their homes, there is no greater joy for me! :)

Let me know what you guys think. I love to hear from you! 🧡
