Nearly 3 months have passed from this year now (which honestly feels like a lifetime) and the best thing that has come out of it for me has been the time I have spent on my art practices. Commissions have also kept me busy, especially in this month because of which I am going back & forth with practice and work.
January was mostly watercolors, while February was all about filling a sketchbook with drawings and March has been a mix of them plus gouache. I am nearly done with my current set of gouache (at least some of the colors) which also worries me a little since I have no option to buy them (online or offline) But ofc safety must be respected first so will wait till I can source them sometime :)
I have done a few gouache works and my favorite among all of them would be the hand on the back painting which I titled βTequila Sunriseβ. Why so? (Scroll down to find out :D)
How many gouache users here?
Because I am legit scared of drawing/painting hands. And painting one loaded with colors was obviously uncomfortable. Even though it was not close to what I had visualised, I am still happy with it :)
Gouache has been such a beautiful discovery for me and I cannot wait to do some good art with it. I am glad that I didnβt jump to oils directly after watercolors. I love the watery and opaque quality of gouache which I also thing has that βasmrβ quality in them. It relaxes my mind and body when I glide my brush loaded with gouache. It almost feels like paining with ice cream because of the excellent texture of this medium.
